You can smell the heady aromas from the soups in the Chefs Cook-off, hear the music from the 80s and 90s dance party in the igloo, see the enchanted ice garden with the Chinese New Year theme, feel the snow under your feet while snowshoeing in the park, and savour a roasted apple from the bonfire at the giant igloo.
All of your senses will enjoy the indoor and outdoor activities of Nutrien Wintershines which begins today (Sat) and runs through next Sunday, February 2nd.
President of the event, Nowshad Ali, says because today (Sat) is also the first day of celebrations for Chinese New Year, they are recognizing the contribution of Saskatoon’s Chinese community throughout the city’s history with an enchanted ice garden, which is like a Chinese garden on ice at River Landing.
Many of the events are centered around the site at River Landing where the Farmers’ Market used to be.
Among the 9 days of activities, there is 70s and 80s dance party in the giant igloo, a Star Wars trivia night, an art caravan and snow games.
