48 communities have been awarded grants to improve traffic safety and the money comes from the proceeds of photo speed enforcement. In total from this round of grants, 5-hundred-thousand dollars was allotted.
Some of the larger amounts are going to places like Dalmeny which is getting almost 17-thousand dollars for work on crosswalks and speed display sign. Both Langham and Lanigan are getting between 12 and 15 thousand dollars for speed display signs, Saskatoon was given a 20 thousand dollar grant for a flashing pedestrian safety crosswalk beacon.
The Town of St. Walburg will receive more than 26 thousand dollars for school zone crosswalk signage and enhancements while the biggest chunk was awarded to the RM of Spiritwood, with almost 33-thousand-7-hundred dollars for three new intersections.
