Saskatoon Police say, around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning they spotted an SUV that they say they knew was stolen. The vehicle slowed down and looked like it was trying to park but then two passengers jumped out and took off on foot in opposite directions in the 11-hundred block of Avenue C North.
As police initiated a traffic stop, and activated their emergency equipment, the vehicle took off as well. Another patrol car parked on Avenue Y, north of 33 Street successfully forced the suspect to stop in a blocked alley.
A 22 year old woman has been charged with Flight from a Peace Officer and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.
Police say they also seized a machete, a baseball bat, and multiple sets of different vehicle keys. No one was hurt and police haven’t tracked down the other two people who were in the SUV.
