Shortly after 10 pm on Monday night Saskatoon Police say they saw a car speeding onto Preston Avenue from 8th Street. The officers felt the driver seemed to be avoiding police and pulled the vehicle over.
The driver, who had a learner’s licence, was issued a ticket for not being accompanied by a passenger with a valid licence.
Police allege the passenger had a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of two different people’s ID. Further investigation indicated the passenger was breaching probation and a conditional sentence order.
But as the Police Service pointed out, it didn’t end there, when the passenger was taken to detention, a bag of meth was allegedly in his pocket. The 38 year old man now faces several charges including possession of stolen ID and possession of methamphetamine.
