Nutrien plans to resume operations at its Vanscoy mine in March.
The potash company says they’re in the works of developing a recall plan for employees and are working on determining a set date to re-open the mine.
The mine closed in November due to oversupply resulting in more than 250 workers being laid-off.
Over 400 workers returned to work just before the start of the new year at Nutrien’s Lanigan and Allan mines.
In an email sent to CJWW News from Will Tigley, Manager of Media and Digital Communications says they expect a positive medium to long-term outlook in the potash markets as they head towards spring.
The news of Nutrien re-opening its Vanscoy mine comes just days after Mosaic announced it was shutting down its Colonsay mine indefinitely.
