One man is dead and two officers were injured during an incident in Alberta on Sunday afternoon. Around one o’clock, RCMP were told of a stolen vehicle in the Lloydminster area. They found it and made a traffic stop but an altercation occurred where an officer fired a service pistol. The stolen vehicle took off with RCMP in pursuit. Around two o’clock the vehicle was found in Lloydminster. There was another altercation and another shot fired. The driver was killed and a female passenger was taken into custody. She wasn’t hurt but two officers were sent to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The incident is under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.

RCMP from Kitscoty, Vermillion, Wainwright, Maidstone, and Onion Lake were involved in the case along with the RCMP Police Dog Service, and RCMP Traffic Services.
