A group of dedicated women is traveling on snowmobiles for 6 days next month to raise money for cancer research and equipment.
Prairie Women on Snowmobiles kicked off their tour on Sunday in Humboldt with visits to communities including Moose Jaw, Craven and Outlook.
President of the organization Kelly Rea is encouraging people to come out to meet the riders at one of their fundraisers or events during their stops.
She says it’s a chance to not only hear their stories, but for them to learn about other people’s experiences with breast cancer.
Survivors are encouraged to come out. Rea says they honour the people who have survived, giving them a sense that they are not alone. And, she says, it helps the people who are on that journey now know that they are not alone.
People who cannot make it to one of the events can instead donate to their cause by visiting their website: prairie women on snowmobiles dot c-a.
