Regina Police are investigating an assault that took place just before 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the 1800 block of Saskatchewan Drive.
Information provided to police prior to arriving was that a male had physically assaulted a female.
In a news release, police say a security guard that intervened was also allegedly assaulted by the male and that the male was said to be in possession of a knife.
Police located the male suspect walking with a female, believed to have been the victim, walking in an alley in the 2000 block of Hamilton Street.
Police say the male got into a struggle with officers. The male sustained minor injuries in the altercation and the female fled.
The male was taken to hospital and police are still looking for the female to get her statement.
A 42 year-old Regina man has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of resisting a police officer and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
