Saskatchewan’s Premier has announced a new committee to evaluate potential pipeline projects to help the province’s resources reach key global markets.
The Pipeline Projects Assessment Committee is a cabinet committee that will review and assess the viability of pipeline projects in this province and possible government involvement in investing or generally advancing these projects.
Scott Moe says the decision to establish this committee stems from a number of proposals from businesses, indigenous groups and communities that are looking at pipeline projects.
This includes projects expanding access south through the United States and projects that would access the port of Churchill.
The committee consists of Minister of Finance, Donna Harpauer, Trade and Export Development Minister, Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Energy and Resources, Bronwyn Eyre, and Environment Minister, Dustin Duncan.
