Indigenous Achievement Week at the University of Saskatchewan culminates with the Student Round Dance.
First Nations, Metis and Inuit Students Services Team Leader Graeme Joseph says it’s a fun inclusive event that includes families with drumming, dancing and singing.
It’s planned for Friday night from 7-11 o’clock in the Education Gym.
The U-of-S is holding events all week in the Gordon Snelgrove Art Gallery and hands out its Indigenous Student Achievement Awards Thursday afternoon in the Gordon Oaks Red Bear Student Centre.
Joseph feels the week is a way to focus on Indigenous accomplishments and positive contributions to society while highlighting the culture and history of First Nations people.
