Saskatoon Police say a 24 year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the Guns and Gangs Unit on outstanding warrants and charges in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive.

Just before 4 o’clock, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit located and were attempting to arrest the man. When approached by officers, the man fled on foot.

Following a brief foot chase, the man was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of bear spray and a knife.

The 24 year-old was arrested on six outstanding warrants. He also faces a number of new charges including possession of a dangerous weapon.
