Saskatchewan Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab says the risk of contracting the coronavirus called COVID-19 is very low in this province.
Fifteen people have been tested in Saskatchewan.
14 of those tests were confirmed negative, and they are waiting for the results for one test.
He also says they have received the usual amount of questions and inquiries through the Healthline from people who have traveled.
There were 44 calls 2 weeks ago and 33 last week and a total of 86 all together.
There is very limited travel from Hubei province, with only 60 to 70 a day that would have come to Canada before covid-19 ramped up.
Shahab adds that people are being very diligent with self-isolation after their travels if they think they have symptoms.

The End Of Flu Season Is Near

Flu season in general is tapering down in Saskatchewan.
Dr. Shahab says the numbers haven’t grown since the Ministry of Health’s last update, which stands at 25 I-C-U admissions and 11 deaths, but there have been 2 additional outbreaks in long-term care facilities, bringing the total to 47.
In terms of the flu vaccine effectiveness this year, he said the ministry won’t receive that data until May or June.
Residents can still get the flu shot if they haven’t done so already.
