More clarity has been provided to the public regarding homicides that have taken place over the past few months in Regina.
Among those charged was 25-year-old Dillon Whitehawk who faces 3 charges of First Degree Murder from homicides that happened between November and last month.
26 year old Kelly Stonechild and 20 year old Kurtis Thomas have also been charged with First Degree Murder in one of the homicides with Whitehawk.
Superintendent Cory Zaharuk says these suspects wouldn’t be in custody without the co-operation of citizens in North Central Regina. He says he is also overwhelmed at the number of officers who have pitched in, going door-to-door, asking everyone they could about what they may know about these incidents.
Police believe Whitehawk, Stonechild and Thomas are associated with, or are members of, a Saskatchewan-based street gang.
