Two men are facing charges in connection to a 5 month long investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit.
An attempted murder investigation began on September 19th last year when a victim was shot in the 21-hundred block of Osler Street.
The man’s injuries were considered non life threatening.
On February 6th, 36 year old Thomas Adam Stevenson of Regina was charged with attempted murder and the next day 32 year old Glenn Travis Sutherland was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Both have made their first appearances in court.
Prince Albert Police responded to 321 calls for service over the long weekend including several weapons-related offences.
On Friday morning just before 7, a resident reported his vehicle had been damaged by gunshots in the 2-thousand block of 15th Avenue East.
Then early Saturday morning, officers responded to the 11-hundred block of 18th Street West and upon arrival, found a vehicle and multiple people in a back alley.
It’s alleged 2 rifles, a knife and ammunition were seized. Two women and 3 men are facing firearms-related charges.
That same morning, a resident reported damage to a front window from a bullet of an unknown calibre, which police are investigating, and just before 1 Monday morning during a traffic stop, police allege 2 loaded shotguns, a pellet gun and ammunition, a knife, bear spry and body armour were seized from a vehicle. Two men are facing numerous charges.
The Lloydminster RCMP say a quantity of cocaine and a significant amount of Canadian currency was seized after search warrants for a home in that community and for a vehicle that was stopped by police on Highway 16.
Two men, Ahmed Nur and Raed Abdulla of Lloydminster are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both appeared on Tuesday in Lloydminster Provincial Court.
