There will be extra curling Thursday morning at 8 in Moose Jaw…and it will involve Saskatchewan!
Robyn Silvernagle’s North Battleford quartet will play New Brunswick and B-C trades shots with Nova Scotia in tie-breaker games with the winners getting into the championship round at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. All four teams ended up 4-3 in preliminary round play.
Wednesday night, Saskatchewan scored one in the 10th end to tie things up, but Northern Ontario would capitalize with hammer in the extra end for a 4-3 victory which pushed them into the Championship pool of the Canadian women’s curling championship…joining Manitoba, Team Canada, Ontario, the Wild Card entry and Prince Edward Island. The rest of the teams will be in the seeding pool…including the two Thursday morning losers.
