A marathon Thursday for Saskatchewan at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw.
Robyn Silvernagle’s North Battleford foursome out-lasted New Brunswick 9-7 in an extra end in the morning to qualify for the championship round. They then edged Prince Edward Island 8-7 in the afternoon before losing 8-3 last night to the Jennifer Jones wild card team. That leaves Saskatchewan with a 5-4 record, tied for fifth place with P-E-I. The top four teams qualify for the Page Playoffs after Friday’s play. Manitoba, Ontario and the Jones quartet have clinched playoff spots…all with 8-1 records. Northern Ontario is fourth at 6-3. The Silvernagle quartet plays Ontario Friday afternoon and B-C Friday night.
