Wholesale merchants’ sales in Saskatchewan were virtually unchanged in December from the month before, dropping only 0.4 per cent. Nationally the rate was an increase of about one per cent. Compared to December a year before, sales here were off about 17 per cent. A total of five provinces were in negative territory but our showing was the worst. Nationally, sales were up 1.5 per cent. Total sales in Saskatchewan in December were valued t $2.1 billion.
