There have been rumours Saskatchewan may have a spring election instead of the planned date of October 26th.
Premier Scott Moe hasn’t said that there will be an early election, but he also hasn’t said there won’t be one.
He says, “October 26th is the date we planned for. October 26th is the date set here in the province. But, in saying that, the Premier does have the prerogative to call it early and I won’t commit to either way.”
NDP Leader Ryan Meili says whether the election is in the spring or the fall, they are ready.
He adds that if there is a spring election, he believes the reason is because the SaskParty doesn’t want people looking at their record and focusing on how much the economy has suffered.
Meili says it’s time for a change in Saskatchewan, so the earlier the better.
