Saskatoon Riversdale MLA Danielle Chartier has decided not to run in the next provincial election. She was first elected in a by-election in 2009 after former Premier Lorne Calvert retired, and was re-elected in 2011 and 2016, and is the NDP Critic for Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors, and SaskEnergy. Chartier is a single mother who wants to spend more time in Saskatoon. NDP Leader Ryan Meili thanks her for her service to Saskatchewan and for the sacrifices she and her family have made over the years.
