There is a new program in Saskatoon to help elderly victims of fraud who don’t have family to rely on for help. The Saskatoon Police Service Economic Crime Unit is providing specialised, fraud-related training to Victims Services support workers who can then support elderly victims. That support can take the form of closing fraudulent accounts, credit bureau alerts, cleaning computers, changing phone numbers, medical referrals, and other steps to prevent re-victimization.
