The Saskatoon Blades will look to draw inspiration from the presence of emergency back-up goaltending sensation David Ayres and wearing special Suits Up for Organ Donation jerseys Friday night in order to beat the visiting Regina Pats and clinch a W-H-L playoff spot.
The Bridge City Bunch played well in a 4-3 loss to Calgary on Wednesday. Even if the Blades don’t win Friday, they can still become the 14th W-H-L team to clinch a playoff berth if they lose in extra time to Regina or have Red Deer lose at home to Spokane either in extra time or regulation. Game time for Saskatoon and the Pats is 7 o’clock at SaskTel Centre with the broadcast on 98-COOL opening with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show at 6. Meanwhile, the Prince Albert Raiders can all but sew up a first place finish in the East Division if they beat Brandon in regulation time Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre. P-A is five points ahead of the Wheat Kings with each team having just seven games left in the regular season. Game time is 7 o’clock.
