Wakaw RCMP, the Cudworth Fire Department, Wakaw Fire and EMS will be out on High 41 on Saturday night for a walk to bring awareness about an issue that affects them.
Emergency personnel would like to remind the public about slowing to 60 km/h when passing emergency and service vehicles on the side of the road with their lights flashing.
That includes tow trucks, tire service vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances and fire trucks.
In January, there were 199 charges for driving over 60 on a highway when passing an emergency vehicle with its emergency lights on and 13 for those passing tow trucks with their lights on going over 60.
The ‘Slow to 60’ Walk begins at 6 p.m. near Wakaw.
