Gas prices have dropped below a dollar in many heavily populated areas of southern Ontario but you can still get regular unleaded for a buck-30 in some parts of Vancouver.
In Saskatoon the price of regular unleaded averages just over a dollar-one per litre according to GasBuddy.com’s daily survey of 81 outlets in Saskatoon.
Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.com says oil has seen its value cut nearly in half after Iran tensions inflamed prices months ago. He notes that crude oil prices plummeted 20% in Sunday evening trade combined with the escalation of fears around COVID-19. DeHaan says gas prices have no where to go “but down and like a rock”.
