A total of four incentives have been renewed by the City of Prince Albert for 2020 to encourage more businesses to locate or expand their operations in the city.
Craig Guidinger, Director of Planning and Development Services says the programs include two tax incentives including the new home construction tax incentive. Homes completed in 2020 will qualify for a 100 per cent municipal and education tax abatement for 36 months once the final inspection by the City is complete.
Infill residential projects that are developed within existing neighbourhoods throughout 2020 will qualify for a 60 month partial tax abatement on both municipal and education taxes through the infill redevelopment tax incentive.
The outstanding infrastructure cost rebate program waives costs for outstanding underground or surface improvements. The City does note that property owners who owe outstanding fees are not eligible.
The fourth program to be renewed is the declining scale tax rollback program. The program is for projects that are valued at over $1 million dollars, which meet an identified need in Prince Albert Following an inspection from the City’s building division, property owners may receive an abatement of municipal and education taxes on a declining scale for 60 months.
