The Regina Police Service made headway in the fight against illicit drugs on Friday.
As a result of a investigation within the city, 5 warrants were executed including three on the 1200 block of Retallack Street and two on the 1200 block of Robinson street.
Large amounts of controlled substances, specifically fentanyl were uncovered as a result of the search. 380 grams of fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine were seized along with $4000 in cash and a stolen .40 caliber handgun.
5 people have been charged in connection with the warrants, including one man with outstanding homicide warrants in Lethbridge and Edmonton.

Since the new year, Regina police have been made aware of 92 overdoses. Four people have died with another three fatalities under investigation.
