The Canadian Hockey League which consists of the WHL, QMJHL and the OHL is one of the latest leagues to suspend play until further notice due to concerns around COVID-19. The Saskatoon Blades released a statement Thursday afternoon saying that the club respects and supports the CHL’s and WHL’s decision to pause the regular season due to the on-going outbreak of the Coronavirus. The Blades say the safety and well-being of their players, coaches, staff and fans is their number one priority. Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, the National Hockey League, the NBA and the NLL have all decided to suspend play until further notice. The provincial government announced Saskatchewan’s first presumptive case of COVID-19 Thursday morning.
