A 33 year old Saskatoon man, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his parole, is facing more charges in the wake of a stolen vehicle incident in Saskatoon.
Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, an officer spotted an SUV known to be stolen, in the area of Lorne Avenue and Ruth Street. The officer followed the vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop at Idylwyld Drive and 20th Street West but they had to throw down a tire deflation device.
The vehicle didn’t stop but continued north on Idylwyld and then headed up 22nd into oncoming traffic and did manage to hit another vehicle before coming to a stop at Avenue I. No one was injured and two men in the vehicle were taken into custody. A 28 year old Saskatoon man was later released.
A 33 year old man now also faces additional charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
