The University of Saskatchewan is temporarily suspending classes.
After Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer indicated gatherings of more than 250 people pose a health risk at this time, the U of S is taking measures by suspending classes on Monday March 16th through Wednesday March 18th.
On Thursday (March 19th) the U of S will be moving to remote delivery of classes for the remainder of the winter term, saying there may be alternative circumstances for certain programs. The suspension in classes will allow staff to prepare for that transition.
While classes will be changing, the University states it is not closing with libraries, residences, food and health services expected to continue. Non-essential events and any international travel will be cancelled and the school says it is reviewing options for final exams.
The university will follow suit with recommendations made throughout the province in practicing social distancing and requesting anyone who is sick to stay at home.
