Just after 7 o’clock Saturday night, a 56 year-old man who was driving himself to the hospital suffering from a cut to his left hand, flagged over a patrol supervisor at 21st Street and Avenue R South.
In a news release, police say the victim insisted on driving himself to the hospital.
Officers then located the home where the incident took place in the 200 block of Avenue S South.
Once police arrived, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly arrested. The 40 old male suspect, who is known to the victim will appear before a Justice of the Peace Sunday morning.
He is facing an aggravated assault charge and he also had a warrant out for his arrest for assault with a weapon.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening injury in the incident.
