The players can’t do much together as a group, but that won’t stop the business of running the Saskatoon Hilltops…although done via remote means.
Hilltops’ president Chris Hengen-Braun says the six-time defending Canadian Bowl champions will follow protocols set out by Football Canada and Football Saskatchewan. That means cancelling all team activities until May 1. That includes an indoor practice that was slated for March 29. The March 15 indoor workout was also scrubbed. Hengen-Braun noted that the Toppers’ annual Spring Camp is set to start May 1, but admitted that may also have to be postponed or cancelled altogether, depending on the situation with the COVID-19 virus. The Prairie Football Conference Annual General Meeting was to have been held this weekend. It will be held, eventually, by digital means rather than in-person attendance by all six teams. The P-F-C regular-season is expected to start in mid-August as per usual.
