The Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Division has sent a letter to parents outlining actions in light of COVID-19. The division says it is preparing to shift from face-to-face learning to distance learning. It will be online or some other format. They will be sending out information for elementary students including activities that they can work on at home, or suggestions for developing a routine. For high schools, the division is working on supporting teachers to transition to a distance learning model. The priority will be grade 12 students and then they will work their way down through the other grades. Progress reports will be scanned and emailed to parents. They will be mailed out if there is no email address on file. Schools remain open through Thursday so you can pick up any items belonging to your child. You can also return any books to school at that time. Otherwise, contact the school to make arrangements.
The Saskatoon Public School Division has posted a memo to parents on its website saying that schools will need up-to-date contacts in order to keep families informed due to schools closing this week. That includes both current phone numbers and email addresses. Each individual school has released information to parents and caregivers on how report cards will be delivered and returns for items including band instruments, textbooks and library books will work. Schools will remain open to students until the end of the day Thursday. Parents and caregivers with questions are asked to contact the school your child or children are enrolled at. The memo is an addition to a letter that was sent out on Monday.
