Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, says during a time when the government is asking most Canadians to stay home, they want to make sure the way they deliver service also follows the best public health advice while still providing services to Canadians.
“COVID-19 has created unprecedented challenges across our country. Service Canada employees, along with many other public servants, have been working around the clock to deliver essential supports to Canadians during this difficult time. That work continues.”
Canadians will still be able to access their benefits on line. Employees at Service Canada sites will serve people over the phone for EI and pension applications in addition to the services provided over the phone by their call centres.
