The Canadian Cancer Society sees April as an important month for fundraising but with the COVID-19 pandemic, the difficult decision to stop all in-person efforts has been made.
This includes postponing canvassing, flower and pin sales, and other in-person events.
Dr Stuart Edmonds, Executive Vice President of Mission with CCS says fundraising has been put on pause until the COVID-19 crisis has passed, however online aspects of the campaign will be focused on instead at Cancer.ca
People being treated for Cancer are considered high risk for COVID-19, the CCS says there are a number of phone and online programs available for these trying times, with support information that aims to reduce anxiety for cancer patients across the country.
