A couple of scams have emerged dealing with COVID-19.
The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority is warning the public about potentially fraudulent ads by companies offering work from home opportunities as securities traders.
The ad states no experience of a licence is needed and the firm demands payment of fees from the would-be traders.
In Saskatchewan, anyone trading securities must be registered.
A second warning is geared at investors and the general public.
It’s about companies claiming to have products or services that will prevent, detect or cure COVID-19.
The FCAA stresses there is no vaccine or natural health produce that is authorized to treat or protect against the virus.
