The Metis Nation-Saskatchewan has announced up to $2.88 million in funding for emergency COVID-19 relief for childcare supports, personal protective equipment, regional capacity, and the needs of Metis households in finance distress. The organization says this is the first part of a broader relief effort including plans for the remainder of the $7.25 million in funding to be received from the federal government. There are also ongoing talks with the province regarding health services and further relief efforts. The MN-S says it is refining a Pandemic Plan to address the impacts of COVID-19.
