Speaking at a Lung Health Webinar for the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, Dr. Erika Penz
Respirologist at the Royal University Hospital says people with any sort of lung disease should have an action plan, adding that during the COVID-19 it is very important that people take prescribed therapy, medications and stick to good maintenance regiments.
Dr. Penz explains that it is too early to say what the long term effects will be, but the risk of further damage to the lungs comes with COVID-19. She says it may not be possible to reverse some of the damage that comes from the virus to those who already have underlying lung disease.
