The federal government is providing $100 million to improve access to food for Canadians facing social, economic, and health impacts from COVID-19. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the money will be distributed across the country to national, regional, and local organization such as Food Bank Canada, Salvation Army, and others. The funding will be used to purchase food and other basic necessities. The money can also be used to buy or rent equipment and other materials to help address the unique needs of the communities that arise out of the challenges presented by the pandemic.
