Cheryl Olson says she has nothing but compassion and respect for the Boulet family which honoured their son, by proceeding with organ donation, and made life better for others while experiencing tragedy themselves.
Olson, as a two time heart transplant recipient is an advocate for organ donation and spoke today, on Green Shirt Day, of what it has given her. She points out her husband kept his wife, her kids kept their mom and she has had 7,500 extra days of life.
Green Shirt Day was inspired by Humboldt Bronco Logan Boulet who died in the 2018 crash of the team bus and donated his organs. It is called the Logan Boulet effect.
