Just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, Saskatoon RCMP were called out to a fatal accident on Highway #41 about 8 kilometres southwest of Aberdeen.
A tractor trailer travelling north and an F-550 truck collided. RCMP say visibility was poor at the time and road conditions were icy.
The two people in the 5-550 were airlifted to Saskatoon hospital. A 52 year old man driving the truck succumbed to his injuries in hospital. A 52 year old man who was a passenger in the vehicle remains in hospital in serious condition.
The 39 year old man driving the tractor trailer died at the scene of the accident. Highway 41 reopened in both directions just after midnight.
Saskatoon RCMP, the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Aberdeen Fire Department and first responders as well as Medavie Health Services, STARS and Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service all attended the scene.
