Everyone got out safely and it appears all the family pets are okay after a house fire shortly before 10 this morning.

The call came in from the 100 block of Girgulis Crescent in Saskatoon and a woman as well as a teenage boy had already evacuated but family pets were still inside.

Smoke and heavy heat were detected by firefighters when they arrived on scene, the utilites were shut off and a fire was located in a bedroom but had extended into a bathroom. The blaze was quickly put out and a fire investigator is working on the cause and damage estimate.

The two cats and one reptile were successfully rescued.
