The Western Hockey League is saying they will start their next season as they normally would.
At least that’s what W-H-L Commissioner Ron Robison told the Rod Pedersen Show back on Monday. Robison said the 2020-21 campaign would start on schedule in mid-September…even though there isn’t a schedule released as of yet. The commissioner added the C-H-L Import Draft will be held on June 30th as originally intended. The W-H-L suspended its 2019-20 regular-season on March 13th due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in North America. The entire remainder of the regular-season, playoffs and Memorial Cup were cancelled because of the novel coronavirus. However, the league did hold their annual Bantam Draft, via virtual means, this past Wednesday.
