On Friday at approximately 2:00 p.m., Saskatoon Police honoured and paid tribute to, Constable Heidi Stevenson, in front of Police HQ on 25th street.
Police say the pandemic made gathering to celebrate her as normal impossible. As a result, Saskatoon police organized a short ceremony to pay tribute while still adhering to the Public Health Orders.
In order to keep the number of spectators as low as possibe police streamed the event on their Facebook account.
Police also asked the community to keep Constable Stevenson and the other victims in their hearts and minds, but requested no one attend the ceremony due to current Health Orders.
