If you plan to go outside with your mom this weekend, the City of Saskatoon is reminding residents that the provincial Public Health Order is still in effect.
Follow physical distancing guidelines by staying two metres away from anyone who is not a member of your own household or your extended household group to keep yourself and others safe. Gatherings must not be with more than 10 people, inside or outside. Sports fields should not be used for group or organized sports or activities, and play structures remain closed.
The city says they will have Physical Distancing Ambassadors moving throughout Saskatoon’s 200 parks. Ambassadors will be replacing closed signs and tape on playground structures as well as promoting the importance of physical distancing and other necessary restrictions while using outdoor public places.

City Cemeteries remain under Public Health Order guidelines
City Cemeteries are currently open to the public during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) The city recommends, if you are visiting cemetery grounds, they ask that you maintain physical distancing guidelines: stay two metres away from anyone who is not a member of your own household or your extended household group to keep yourself and others safe
Protect Those Most Vulnerable
During press conferences this week, Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab, says the province has been successful in flattening the curve in many areas, and for those that are healthy and maintain social distancing sharing a meal is possible this weekend, as long as there are no more than 10 people. He adds extended households should only include the same 2 to 3 households with the same 2 to 3 people.
Shahab says that if there are people in your family, who are older or more vulnerable, meeting in a backyard could be a better idea. He explains people should try to maintain a bubble around someone that’s more vulnerable, people should try to be conscious of that, and not to meet socially in any way, if anyone has symptoms of COVID-19.
