An investigation by the Guns and Gangs Unit has resulted in a number of people facing drug trafficking charges.
On Friday, Police saw a suspicious red Dodge Durango leave a residence in the 700 block of 5th Avenue North. The vehicle was stopped and the driver refused to exit the vehicle. Police arrested her and say they found prepackaged methamphetamine and cannabis, along with a can of bear spray in her purse. Ammunition and more methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle with two other occupants.
Three women, ages 21, 30 and 28, are charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking. Other charges include Possession of Ammunition, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime under $5000 and Breach of Conditions.
On Sunday, at 1:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed at the address in the 700 block of 5th Avenue North. Three women were located in a detached garage, and taken into custody. Police found and seized methamphetamine, a shotgun and ammunition at the property.
Two women, ages 31 and 27, are facing numerous firearm-related offences. The third woman, a 26 year old, was released without charges.
Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
