Regina Police expressed concern over the illegal manufacturing of firearms and computer-machined firearm parts. Last Friday, Regina Police were dispatched to the report of a firearm discharged on the 1000 block of Edgar Street. Their investigation determined that two groups were in a dispute that began on social media and escalated into a confrontation. The suspects all fled the scene before police arrived.
The officers learned the identities of suspects and went to a home on Fines Drive where they say they found one of the suspects, who left in a vehicle. Police made a high-risk traffic stop, made the arrest, and seized firearm parts and ammunition.
Other officers still at the home on Fines Drive talked another suspect out of the residence and seized another firearm part. Four more people then exited the building and searches of the home and four vehicles tuned up more evidence of firearms manufacture.
Charged were 37 year old Gregg Joshua Meyer of Fillmore and 37 year old Jonathan Joseph Yurkoski of Regina. They face weapons charges. They are both in Provincial Court Monday. A 16 year old and 15 year old will be in Youth Court July 16th on Mischief charges.
