More than half the children aged 10 to 17 years old, say what they miss most during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown are their friends.
That was one of the findings from the latest Angus Reid Institute Survey.
The most common word used to describe how they been feeling recently is “bored” which is how 71% of the children surveyed answered the question.
Forty-one per cent say the feel “normal”. Older kids are twice as likely as younger ones to say they feel “angry.” That’s compared to those aged 10 to 15 years. The same group is half as likely to say they feel “good”.
Seventy-five per cent say they are keeping up with their online classes. More than half say they don’t like the online learning.
Half of the children across all age groups say its their friends they miss the most and 16% miss extracurricular activities likes sports or clubs.
And as to how they are spending their spare time because of the pandemic, 88% say they are watching movies and TV/streaming media. Seventy-four per cent are playing video games.
