A 36 year old man is facing three counts of Committing Mischief for Reasons of Bias, Prejudice, or Hate Based on Religion. It’s in connection with churches having been spray painted on the 200 block of 2nd Street East, the 600 block of Dufferin Avenue and the 600 block of Avenue I South. He was arrested when police were told at about 2:30 this morning [wed] that someone was throwing rocks at Police Headquarters. Patrol officers found a man holding rocks, with orange spray paint on him, and orange spray paint on the side of the building. Police allege that, when he was arrested, he told them he had spray painted the churches. Police say that, since the beginning of the month, they have charged this same man with eight counts of mischief, six of which were for reasons of bias, prejudice, or hate based on religion.
