RCMP say shots were fired in their direction Thursday around 11:40 as their Emergency Response Team was preparing to execute a search warrant at a residence, 27 km north of Biggar. One officer was hit, suffered an injury, not considered life-threatening. The officer received initial medical treatment from officers with the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Medical Response Team. The search warrant was executed and a man and a woman were taken into custody. The injured officer was assessed by local EMS and no further treatment was needed. Police did not return fire in the incident. Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
