Around 6:20 Monday night, the Saskatoon Fire Department received a mutual aid request from Whitecap Dakota First Nation to help in controlling a house fire. While on the way, the Fire Department was told that local volunteer firefighters had the blaze under control. However, one fire truck and one battalion chief continued to the scene. They helped the locals with extinguishing the fire. A neighbour had alerted the occupants and helped them evacuate. There were no injuries but the structure was extensively damaged. No cause or damage estimate will be determined by the Saskatoon Department as it is outside of their jurisdiction.
