There are reports that the C-F-L has looked into a hub city approach for the 2020 season, and that Regina is being considered to host games with no fans under this model.
Mayor Michael Fougere says he has not heard from the league or the Saskatchewan Roughriders about this, so to his knowledge no bid has been submitted. But, as COVID-19 numbers remain low in the province, Fougere says Regina seems like the natural fit for the hub city model. Other sports leagues such as Major League Baseball, the N-H-L and N-B-A have, reportedly, explored a hub model approach.
